A recent article by Michael Wallace in the Miami Herald unveils that it is Michael Beasley likely to start at small forward for the Miami Heat in the 2009 NBA season. While Erik Spoelstra and Pat Riley would like to convince otherwise, 2009 has become a throwaway season for all intents and purposes; one that will provide Beasley with on-the-job training at the 3-spot. This way, come 2010 when Chris Bosh defects to Miami and usurps the power-forward spot from Udonis Haslem, Beasley will have had an entire season to improve his slow-footed defense.
